DESCRIPTION  

You will lead the evolution of our critical messaging product suite, ensuring a seamless experience within Sinch’s Customer Communications Cloud.  Based in Stockholm or Malmö, Sweden, you will head an engineering team of approximately 200 staff across Europe, North America, and Latin America, focusing on SMS, MMS, and other messaging channels.

Your responsibilities include developing multi-channel connectivity, advanced features, and APIs in the rapidly evolving messaging landscape.  With the growing adoption of RCS and other conversational channels, you will help Sinch strengthen its position as a global messaging leader.

As Head of Engineering for Messaging, your key responsibilities are to:

  • Collaborate with product and operations teams to deliver market-ready products aligned with strategic business objectives
  • Lead engineering efforts to meet product roadmaps, requirements, and budgets, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes
  • Champion a customer-centric focus, designing innovative features that improve user engagement and satisfaction
  • Provide technical leadership that shapes systems architecture, driving the company’s long-term vision and growth
  • Drive engineering modernization and foster a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement
  • Promote operational excellence through resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure, leveraging best practices in automation and observability
  • Shape executive communication strategies, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and drive effective resource allocation
  • Build and lead a high-performing, growth-oriented engineering team, committed to excellence and learning

 

REQUIREMENTS  

You are a forward-thinking technical leader with deep expertise in the messaging industry and a track record of delivering scalable solutions in high-volume, high-growth environments.  You have a passion for building high-performing teams, fostering a culture that prioritizes innovation, adaptability, and delivering measurable business results.  A strong communicator and collaborator, you are pragmatic in balancing trade-offs to align diverse perspectives behind a unified vision.  Your ability to manage budgets, timelines, and strategic initiatives autonomously ensures consistent delivery of impactful outcomes.

Experience, Education and attributes required:

  • Extensive experience delivering scalable, high-performance solutions in messaging or related industries
  • Demonstrated success in leading large, high-performing engineering teams
  • Expertise in agile methodologies and modern software technologies
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams across time zones and cultures
  • Strong leadership and communication, aligning teams with strategic goals
  • Proven ability to build trust and confidence with key stakeholders, driving alignment and delivering results
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on innovation and identifying new opportunities
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degrees or equivalent experience are a plus
