About the Role:

As the Head of Engineering, you will drive technological advancements that make Belong’s members' lives as effortless as possible. Reporting directly to CEO Ale Resnik, you will lead our engineering initiatives that aim to enhance operational efficiency and world-class service at a scalable cost. This role is based in Miami, FL, with significant responsibilities in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and requires frequent travel.

Location: Miami, FL / Buenos Aires, Argentina
Travel: Frequent, at least once a month for a week 
Reports to: CEO, Ale Resnik

Team Structure:

  • Direct Reports: Manage a team of Senior Software Engineers, Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Data Analysts, and DevOps specialists.
  • Peer Collaboration: Work closely with the VP of Product, Tyler Infelise, and COO, David Bakey, ensuring that engineering and product efforts are synergistically aligned with our business goals.
  • Teams: Oversee the Growth Squad, Home Rental Squad, and Active Home Squad, integrating technological solutions to optimize operations across these dynamic teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the engineering department that aligns with the company’s goals of disrupting the long-term rental Home space. 
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build, mentor, and lead a strong team of engineers to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, technical prowess, and high performance. Attract top talent and retain a high-performing team.
  • Technology Strategy and Execution: Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive technology strategies that include the integration of artificial intelligence to streamline operations and enhance user experiences.
  • Operational Excellence and System Reliability: Ensure the reliability and scalability of Belong’s technology infrastructure to support growth and operational excellence. Maintain systems that perform flawlessly with minimal downtime.
  • Innovation and Technology Leadership: Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the exploration and implementation of advanced technologies to meet and exceed industry standards.

  • Culturally Competent: Experience working in fast growing companies, especially, US Venture back companies with having managed teams in LATAM/Argentina.  You understand the LATAM engineering culture, particularly Argentina as well as the world of Venture-Backed Startups/Silicon Valley
