The Role:
Zenjob is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead our B2B efforts, driving technical excellence and innovation in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. Based in the heart of Berlin, a city where cultural richness meets technological advancement, this role plays a key part in shaping the future of our Enterprise solutions.
Zenjob is on a mission to become the digital staffing platform delivering companies the best staffing experience with the highest flexibility and reliability, and workers the best choice and fair pay for side jobs. Our service is available in over 39 cities in Germany. Our growth financing round of $50 million (€45 million) from February 2022 is helping us to scale our platform and add new data-based automation features for our rapidly growing customer base.
As Head of Engineering for our B2B vertical, you will lead the teams driving Zenjob’s Enterprise solutions. This includes developing integrations with Vendor Management Systems and Shift Planning platforms, while also delivering a cutting-edge platform to empower our Commercial teams.
This role combines technical leadership, architectural oversight, and strategic alignment with a strong Product and Commercial mindset while collaborating closely with our Commercial teams, Enterprise customers, and partners. Reporting to the CTO - Will Ellis.
What you'll be doing
Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with Commercial teams and enterprise clients to design and implement tailored B2B solutions, focusing on integrations with systems like Salesforce, Vendor Management Systems, and Shift Planning tools.
Architectural Vision: Define and oversee the technical architecture for scalable and robust solutions, balancing technical innovation with reliability.
Startup Mindset: Maintain a hands-on approach when needed and embrace the agility required to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Leverage your experience in smaller companies where rolling up your sleeves and solving problems directly was essential.
Team Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and manage engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a technical liaison for enterprise customers and partners, ensuring seamless collaboration and integration.
Product Alignment: Partner with Product teams to align technical strategies with customer needs and business objectives.
AI Exploration: Drive the exploration of AI capabilities to enhance customer experiences and internal operations.
Hands-On Guidance: While not heavily involved in day-to-day coding, provide technical oversight, including participating in code reviews and technical discussions.
What You’ll Bring
Enterprise Focus: Experience working with enterprise customers, systems integration, and Salesforce.
Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and scale multi-team engineering setups.
Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of business needs and ability to balance technical priorities with commercial goals.
Collaborative Skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Language proficiency: Fluent in German with excellent communication skills in English too.
