Job Summary
Filevine is currently hiring a Head of Court Reporting Solutions that will initially roll into our Administration Department. We are seeking an experienced Court Reporter or Leader from a Court Reporting Agency to lead our efforts in creating a marketplace for attorneys to locate and contract Court Reporters/Stenographers.
You will oversee the end-to-end process and workflow for court reporting solutions, pricing model, and the functional design of the product as well as be responsible for ensuring a strong knowledge base throughout the organization on legal recording functions.
This is an onsite and in-office position based in Salt Lake City, UT. Reporting to the Administration Office. You will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on the court reporting and stenography industry, identifying key market trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Analyze competitive marketplaces and develop strategies to differentiate the company’s platform.
- Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to design and implement a user-friendly marketplace platform tailored to the needs of attorneys and court reporters.
- Provide insights and recommendations on the requirements and functionalities essential for the platform.
- Establish and maintain relationships with court reporters, stenographers, and relevant professional associations.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with service providers, ensuring competitive pricing and high service quality.
- Develop and implement quality assurance protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the services provided through the marketplace.
- Ensure that all services and operations comply with relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards.
- Develop training materials and programs for both attorneys and court reporters to effectively use the platform.
- Provide ongoing support and resources to users, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
- Oversee the daily operations of the marketplace, including user onboarding, transaction management, and customer support.
- Monitor platform performance, making adjustments as needed to optimize user experience and efficiency.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow the marketplace, including marketing, partnerships, and customer acquisition initiatives.
- Identify new revenue streams and opportunities for platform expansion, such as offering additional services or entering new geographic marketsTrack and analyze key performance metrics related to platform usage, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Work closely with the legal, marketing, and IT departments to align marketplace development with overall company objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any issues related to court reporting and stenography within the company.
- Stay up-to-date with technological advancements in court reporting and explore ways to integrate them into the platform.
- Continuously seek out and implement ways to improve the marketplace, enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.
- Occasional travel and public speaking at Legal Events.
Qualifications

NCRA Certified or equivalent certification, demonstrating a deep understanding of court reporting and stenography practices.
- Proven background of scaling a team, product, processes and standards for court reporting technology
- Background in legal-tech merging technology, court reporting services or other adjacent industries
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee the development and implementation of a complex digital platform.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, managing timelines, budgets, and ensuring project goals are met.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with attorneys, court reporters, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess market conditions, identify opportunities, and develop strategic plans to grow the marketplace.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as legal studies, business administration, or communications is preferred, though equivalent experience in court reporting
