As Head of Corporate Analysis and Reporting, you will play a pivotal role within the leadership team, supporting the Director of Finance and Business Systems across the UKAEA group.
The Head of Corporate Analysis and Reporting is a new role, reflecting the growth in scale and complexity in the authority in recent years. This is a key role in ensuring UKAEA can demonstrate value and positive impact, helping to assure key stakeholders and supporting the attainment of future funding. The purpose of this role is to:
- Ensure excellence in control and planning of expenditure with a particular focus on centralised functions
- Drive improved management information, including expenditure and the related impacts & benefits, to enable senior stakeholders (Executive & Board) manage delivery effectively.
- Develop overarching corporate reporting and analytical capability by working in close partnership with the Portfolio Management Office, Executive Office and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) Sponsor Team.
- Provide information to internal and external stakeholders such as Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) on requested areas such as planned/current headcount and organisational efficiencies.
- Deliver core finance and project accounting processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance
- Drive cross team initiatives and best practice sharing, encouraging process improvement
- Support strong corporate governance, champion transparency reporting and key corporate policies
Additional Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall provision of high quality financial & related information to senior management and external stakeholders, consolidating performance reporting from across the UKAEA Group. Developing capability, insight and efficiency.
- Responsible for monthly reporting of consolidated financial performance (including budgets and forecasts), supported by appropriate non-financial information and commentary, providing analysis and insight.
- Managing the month end close process, consolidation of UKAEA management reporting, producing management review, executive report and a quarterly Board Report. Advising senior leaders on management of UKAEA’s financial position.
- Managing direct reports, ensuring that PDRs, Probationary meetings (where applicable) and regular one-to-one meetings take place to develop the skills and behaviours of the Finance team.
- Responsible for financial planning and reporting for central functions (£25m expenditure and c.500 fte) and for related programmes in the region of £30m p.a
Essential Requirements:

- Fully qualified accountant, with significant post qualification experience in a senior role. Ideally with extensive experience as a business partner and in corporate reporting.
- Experience in business case development and analysis
- Highly motivated with capability to mange & develop direct reports and support overall development of the finance team
- Ability to operate at a strategic level, demonstrate strategic vision and make a substantial contribution to corporate plans;
- Ability to lead significant portfolio, with strong team working, development and collaboration skills.
