Salary: £60-70,000 per annum DOE

The Climate Bonds Standards Team defines sector specific decarbonisation pathways and identifies the levers to enable entities operating in those sectors to reach net zero.

Climate Bonds Head of Standards is responsible for team management, guiding team members through their career and skills development within the organisation and helping to create visibility for their work outside the organisation. The successful candidate will also work alongside each team member as they lead specific criteria development to act as a sounding board and offer strategic guidance on managing the process to challenging deadlines.

As an excellent communicator you will be collaborating with other senior staff members and the CEO to the direction and deliverables of the Standards Team; defining the strategy and direction of the team, amplifying the work of the team, overseeing the delivery of its programme of work, establishing internal and external partnerships, and helping to secure funding to resource it.

What you'll be doing...

  • Overseeing and managing the work of the team to develop, maintain, and update technically accurate, scientifically supported, consistent, rigorously defined sector criteria.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the Standards team, and working to amplify its work both internally and externally.
  • Supervising of the three core teams (Industry, Energy, and Agriculture), producing the supporting plan to deliver their work in the agreed time frame, and planning and mobilising the appropriate resources to achieve it.
  • Ensuring that robust engagement plans are designed and executed to complement and socialise the work of the teams with external stakeholders.
  • Supporting collaboration with various internal teams including Certifications, Markets Intelligence, Taxonomy, and Policy to ensure the proliferation of the sector criteria throughout all Climate Bonds output.
  • Management of the Certification and Standards Scheme Board.
  • Contributing to funding proposals, providing technical content where necessary
  • Influencing external Standards to align where possible

Requirements

  • You can demonstrate extensive experience in a relevant role
  • You're an excellent communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels with strong stakeholder management expertise
  • You have strong leadership and mentoring capabilities combined with excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • You can manage, coordinate and prioritise across multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
  • You're an excellent strategic, analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills, with capacity to see the big picture and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Based within +/-3 hours of Central European Time zone and fluent in English
