Meet Easyplant

As part of our mission to make home design frictionless, we understood that plants are the worst home design product that dies constantly. We knew this was an engineering issue, and we forged our focus toward a mission to prevent plants from dying. Hence, we invested 2 years and developed a self-watering system that prevents plants from dying.

 

What you're applying for

Easyplant launched just a couple of years ago and is already one of the fastest-growing e-commerce companies and the leading direct-to-consumer (D2C) plant company in the US, with hundreds of thousands of plants sold.

There's a whole world of potential initiatives and business lines we haven’t tapped into yet, including well-known brands eager to team up with us, and unexplored territories in various markets. We see these opportunities as major game-changers capable of significantly boosting both our revenue and our brand.

We need a Head of Business Development who's not only skilled in making deals but also passionate about making a difference. You'll need the energy and smarts to manage ongoing initiatives, as well as quickly map out these opportunities and bring home the kind of execution that can transform our business.

 

In this role you'll

We believe in constantly trying new angles, creating new business lines and finding more value that we can create as a company. In this role, you will initially focus on our Retail initiative. In the future, you will,, among other things:

  • Take lead on two of our current most exciting initiatives:
    • Opening easyplant’s first retail stores in the US
    • Expanding our existing B2B business, offering easyplants to various types of businesses.
  • Incubate new business initiatives, crack the 0->1, then help scale them.
  • Identify partnership opportunities, evaluate their potential, and develop actionable plans
  • Handle new deals and partnerships
  • Own the strategy and execution of this domain

What We're Looking For

This role is for a leader that will start as a senior individual contributor that will immediately indirectly manage a team with respect to ongoing projects, and can quickly become a direct manager depending on the success of the initiatives. 

  • Someone with 5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, consulting, or high-impact management roles. 
  • A good track record of working on big projects or partnerships, ideally in the U.S.
  • Previous P&L ownership and/or Retail experience is a big advantage.
  • Great at talking to people, building strong relationships, and making them excited about what we're doing.
  • Good at leading projects and making things happen
  • Strong Analytical skills, business acumen, and financial mindset
  • Product sense
