About You:
You are a dynamic and multi-faceted individual, seamlessly blending the strategic mindset of a Parts Controller with the technical prowess of a Hardware & Integration Project Manager. With a deep passion for aerospace and autonomous systems, you effortlessly navigate the intricate dance between managing intricate hardware components and steering complex integration projects. A bridge between diverse teams, from engineering to supply chain, you possess an innate ability to foresee challenges and devise proactive solutions. Your expertise in avionics and a keen understanding of the aviation landscape allow you to champion projects that not only align with, but surpass, customer expectations. Constantly on the pulse of the latest trends and innovations, you're driven by a desire to push boundaries, ensuring that every project you undertake is rooted in excellence, safety, and cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and proactively keeps all interested parties up to date concerning hardware project status, parts availability, and potential risks.
  • Research and analyze potential parts and components based on technical requirements, performance criteria, and cost considerations. This includes keeping up with industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies relevant to the hardware being developed.
  • Develop, plan, and execute hardware integration projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with company objectives and timelines.
  • Oversee and maintain an up-to-date inventory system, ensuring that necessary parts and components are available and aligned with project timelines.
  • Identify and comply with government and DoD purchasing, supply chain, and supplier management requirements
  • Oversee project budgets related to parts procurement and integration processes, ensuring cost efficiencies and optimal resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with quality teams to ensure that integrated hardware components meet established quality standards and performance criteria.
  • Maintain detailed records of parts transactions, project progress, risks, and milestones. Generate regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Understanding of avionics systems, hardware components, and integration processes, especially related to autonomous autopilot systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in parts inventory management, procurement, and supplier relations in commercial and government industry sectors.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and make informed decisions regarding parts selection and hardware integration.
  • Experience in negotiating with suppliers for optimal pricing, delivery schedules, and terms.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical information to a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Familiarity with aviation, government, and DoD industry standards, especially relating to autonomous systems and DO-178 compliance.

Nice to Haves:

  • Project management and supply chain certifications like PMP (Project Management Professional), APICS, or relevant aerospace certifications.
  • Familiarity with tools like MATLAB and Simulink, which are often used in autonomy and avionics development.
  • Established relationships within the aerospace industry, particularly with parts suppliers and other technology vendors.
  • Knowledge of international customs, shipping, and regulations, especially if sourcing parts globally.
