Hardware at TRACTIAN
The Hardware team is responsible for designing and improving our IoT devices, dealing with every step of the development process, ranging from PCB design, firmware programming, case design, validations and certifications, always aiming to build trustworthy products that can be produced at a mass scale.
What you'll do
As a Hardware Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of our cutting-edge hardware components and systems. Your expertise will contribute to a new generation of devices, developing new features and products from scratch, selecting components, and layouting PCBs. Always guaranteeing the reliability, performance, standard compliance, and scalability of our IoT products, and enabling seamless monitoring and management of industrial assets.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of hardware design projects, including conceptualization, schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout.
Develop innovative and efficient hardware solutions that meet project requirements and specifications, following standards such as IEC 60079 (IECEx) and IEC 61010 (Electrical Safety).
Define and execute test plans to verify the performance, reliability, and compatibility of hardware designs.
Adapt the project and provide documentation for telecommunications standards and certifications such as FCC, IFT, CE and ANATEL.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as software engineering, firmware engineering, and product management, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of hardware components.
Troubleshoot hardware-related issues by investigating and diagnosing problems, identifying root causes, and recommending appropriate solutions.
Document findings, test results, and hardware performance metrics in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware engineering and electronics.
Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as KiCAD and Altium Designer.
Experience utilizing laboratory equipment and tools for hardware testing, analysis and troubleshooting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively.
Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA).
Familiarity with hardware design for low-power and battery-operated devices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Live or have availability to move to Sao Paulo.
Bonus Points
Knowledge of programming languages, such as C/C++ or Python, for test automation and data analysis purposes.
Strong understanding of Antenna Designing.
Strong understanding of Telecommunication Technologies.
Strong understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
Experience with Hazardous Locations Certifications (ATEX and IECEx).
Experience with Telecommunication Certifications (FCC, IFT, CE)
Fluent English proficiency.
Fluent Spanish proficiency.
