Hardware team in the DCE division of Solidigm is looking for an HW Engineer. Our hardware team is responsible for all product design development phases ranging from PCB circuit design, simulations, layout, prototyping and validation leading to high volume manufacturing of Solidigm's Solid-State Drives (SSDs). Hardware engineer design and develop SSD products including researching components, simulations, schematic capture, component placement and routing on printed circuit boards (PCB), building prototypes, validating designs and successfully transitioning to high volume manufacture (HVM).

Responsibilities also include developing test procedures for components and SSD product designs and writing firmware for component and SSD product validation. Hardware Engineer need to work closely with cross-functional teams during the pre and post-design phase for smooth development of products and to meet product schedules.

Hardware Engineer develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment. As an SSD HW Engineer, you will be responsible for a range of tasks related to PCB design for SSD products.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the rest of the project team members to develop SSD products
  • Designing hardware such as digital and analog circuit design, schematic capture, layout, simulation, and preparing detailed design, test and manufacturing documentation
  • Developing test procedures and evaluating components and/or SSD products
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the following areas. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
  • Relevant experience of hardware design flow such as component selection, digital and analog circuit design, schematic capture, layout, simulation and validation
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, high speed signal fundamentals and simulation techniques
  • Hands on experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and soldering equipment
  • Good analytical skills and ability to understand and communicate complex concepts
  • Strong planning and documentation skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Able to effectively work both, independently and in a team environment

For California, Colorado, New York, Washington, and remote roles: The compensation range for this role is $89,620- $143,200. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
