Hardware and Software Integration Engineer (Consultant)-Air Traffic Management

Support the hardware and software integration activities as required to fulfill the requirements of the New ATM System and support of the ATC system between the sites.

Pre- Warranty / Support:

The following Roles & Responsibilities are to be conducted while under the direct supervision of client while learning about the systems that comprise new ATM System:

  • Lead the integration of hardware and software components of the new air traffic management system, ensuring compatibility and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve integration issues, providing technical support and solutions throughout the implementation process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, hardware engineers, system architects, and project managers to ensure cohesive system integration.
  • Documentation: Create detailed documentation of integration processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Training: Provide technical training and support to internal teams and end-users on the new system functionalities and integration aspects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for system improvements and optimizations, recommending and implementing solutions.
  • Carrying out further On-the-Job Training (OJT) with the nominated engineers.
  • Support the first line maintenance of the complete ATM system.
  • Coordination and delivery of technical instructions (maintenance scripts) that are to be derived from the equipment manuals and be sufficiently comprehensive to allow engineers to carry out first line maintenance of the complete ATM system.
  • Be available to travel to other sites where equipment and systems have been deployed during the Replacement of ATM System Project to ensure that the various systems are meeting their availability requirements.
  • Under the direction and guidance of client’s factory Engineering team, manage all software maintenance service activities in conjunction with the maintenance engineers located in the T&V Environment.
  • Assist maintenance engineers when raising Problem Change Requests (PCRs).
  • Assist maintenance personnel with the roll out of new software releases.
  • Assist and support client’s factory-based Engineers in resolving hardware problems, responding to hardware Repair Request Forms (RRF), and initiating hardware design changes (where necessary) to meet the New ATM System performance and warranty requirements or replace obsolete items.
  • Assist and support client’s factory-based Engineers in resolving software problems, responding to PCRs, and initiating software changes (where necessary) to meet Replacement ATM System performance and warranty requirements.
  • If necessary, being available to travel to the clients’ offices in Melbourne, Australia to participate in a Transfer of Knowledge training program.
  • Possess intermediate level knowledge of UNIX / LINUX operating systems.
  • Advanced knowledge in computer peripherals (Input / Output (I/O) devices, storage devices, printers, and displays.
  • Advanced level knowledge of networking, data transmission, and protocols (Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) / Internet Protocol (IP) in particular.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware and software integration, preferably within the aviation or related industry.
  • Have a previous experience managing the installation and integration of complicated computer system including network switches, servers, firewalls etc.
  • Have a good experience with Software implementation and configuration.
  • Have a previous experience with Cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of ATC system.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Understand technical English.
  • Advanced knowledge in computer hardware and microprocessor operation.
  • Strong electronic trouble shooting knowledge and skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows and graphical user Interfaces.
  • Intermediate level skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Visio).
  • Advanced knowledge in personnel and equipment safety requirements.
