As an ASOS Hair Stylist you will work together with your peers to bring to life the ever-evolving ASOS Creative. You’ll be responsible for making sure each model looks and feels ASOS ready throughout their shoot day! The role requires an unflappable, solution focused and hardworking individual with a passion for the brand. You will be a crucial part of helping support a team with a creative, strategic and operational mindset. It is vital that you can work as a strong team member and are passionate about both hairstyling and fashion.
What you'll be doing...
- Produce a great standard of hair that is true to the ASOS aesthetic and appeals to the ASOS 20-something customer
- Working with all different hair types, championing natural textures, and using techniques to promote healthy hair
- Elevating clothing by executing exciting new hair trends that compliment the product
- Be prepared to work to deadlines, ensuring your models are shoot ready on time
- Build relationships and rapport with ASOS models to instil trust in your hair ability and in the wider production department
- Deal with any model issues professionally and in line with ASOS behaviours policy
- Work alongside the model booking team to maximise each models potential and create the best ASOS shoot experience
- Work with the wider shoot team to solve any issues on set and help facilitate a smooth shoot process
- Work under the guidance of your senior and hair lead to produce, develop & execute new looks
- Take on feedback constructively, with an ability to critique your own work efficiently
- Attend H&M courses setup by the business to up-skill yourself
- Be a responsible member of the studio team facilitating smooth communication to team members across different shoot locations
- Follow all creative and operational hair and make-up and wider studio processes
- Full understanding of the ASOS customer and target audience
- An awareness of the latest and upcoming trends, following each season’s catwalk shows, influencers, Tik Tok, our competitors and street styles
- Be prepared to carry out daily administrative tasks
- Contribute to problem solving through meetings and 1:1’s with your hair lead
- Maintaining/ cleaning equipment and products daily to ensure a professional & sanitary working environment
- Contributing to team and departmental meetings
- Be recognised as an aspirational figure within your team and the wider department
Who we'd like to meet...
- Previous professional hair session styling essential
- Previous fashion e-commerce experience is essential
- Experience with all hair texture types Inc. basic experience in wigs, weaves and extensions required
- A methodical, accurate and extremely organised approach with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and think on their feet.
- Assertive and forward thinking.
- A 'can do' attitude and high level of efficiency
- An 'unflappable' nature who is able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Lots of energy and enthusiasm and be a real team player
- Skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, In Design, Sitecore and in the general day to day running of a PC and/or MAC
