Spotlight Sports Group is a global media and technology company specialising in content and data within sports betting, horse racing and fantasy sports. With over 400 employees, the group operates multiple award-winning brands, including Racing Post, the world’s largest horse racing affiliate, Pickswise, myracing and Free Super Tips. We partner with leading operators across the betting industry to produce and build multilingual, best-in-class digital products and content to engage and educate customers. ICS-digital, an international marketing agency including ICS-translate, also operates under the group.

The Growth Manager will be responsible for three major areas being strategy, operations and sales. This will include  developing and executing our sales strategy, managing the sales team, and achieving our revenue targets.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership, operations management and excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners. This role will also focus on diversifying our revenue streams through new business acquisition from industries which complement the Bloodstock industry. 

This role seeks someone who has a solid record of performance of sales across traditional advertising, as well as experience within the sales strategy for apps and data products. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives. Including proposing new products to the Head of Bloodstock which will generate revenue.
  • Lead Sales Team: Manage, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets. Foster a high-performance culture through coaching and continuous performance improvement.
  • Achieve Revenue Targets: Drive the sales team to meet or exceed revenue goals through effective planning, strategy implementation, and management.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new revenues and business opportunities for the department and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and key metrics to the executive team.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximise revenue and profitability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • High-Level Negotiations: Engage in high-level negotiations with key clients and partners to secure major deals and partnerships

Skills:

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in any industry. 
  • Proven ability to network and secure business from diverse industries.
  • Proven project leadership of a team. Desirably experience with leadership of projects relating to app builds. 
  • Proven track record of operations management, while being able to maintain a strategic mindset. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Hubspot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
