We currently have an opportunity for a Group Internal Auditor to join our team based in Exeter or Bristol. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of circa £45,000 - £50,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role
As a Group Internal Auditor you will be responsible for the end to end delivery of high profile internal audits and other assurance activities which cover the whole of the Group’s operations. This role will expose you to a variety operational and financial areas as well as the opportunity to report your findings directly to senior leaders across the Group. The role also provides plenty of opportunities for personal and professional progression and development.
This is an exciting time to join both the UK Water Sector and our highly respected Internal Audit team in Pennon, making a real difference supporting the Group to ensure we hit our targets and overcome key business challenges.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting in the delivery of the Group Audit Plan across Pennon, South West Water (incl. Bournemouth Water and Bristol Water) and Pennon Water Services.
- Independently perform the end to end audit process including planning, fieldwork and reporting in accordance with the Group Internal Audit methodology.
- Report findings to key stakeholders, including executive management, in a clear and concise manner and agreeing actions to address these findings.
- Support the Group Internal Audit function in the delivery of other assurance and advisory related assignments.
- Assisting in ensuring the continuous improvement activities of the Group Internal Audit function.
What we are looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA) and/ or internal audit qualification (e.g. CMIIA).
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Excellent communicator and happy to engage with high level business stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills; including pivot tables, lookups and data management
- Experienced auditors from an external audit background are encouraged to also apply for this role
- Able to effectively prioritise and deliver multiple activities simultaneously to defined deadlines.
- Knowledge of internal audit and risk management methodologies, tools and techniques.
