About the role

Finance team sits at the heart of the business working with business stakeholders to deliver the annual plans, mitigate risk and exploit opportunities. Using a balance of commercial acumen, analytics and management accounting the team work to assess new business opportunities, analyse key decisions, report on performance to the business stakeholders and complete the regular month end reporting and forecasting.

 

The main challenges of the business are to develop marketing, sales, retention, and pricing capabilities to maintain and grow the current portfolio of customers by developing new products and offerings that create clear space between AL and their competitors.

 

As the Finance Manager, you'll lead in overseeing comprehensive finance operations from start to finish. Your role encompasses strategic financial planning and analysis, meticulous balance sheet reconciliations, and spearheading initiatives to enhance procedures and controls for maximum efficiency and compliance. Additionally, you'll dive into exciting ad-hoc projects and requests as they arise, showcasing your agility and ability to tackle new challenges head-on.

 

Requirements

  • Ownership of Month End process, ensuring timely production of ‘Flash’ report by the 5th working day
  • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations
  • Lead audit process for management accounts, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Play a pivotal role in crafting insightful board pack presentations and commentary.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets
  • Management and mentor a team of 3 staff members (Assistant Management/Management Accountants)
  • Foster productive business relationships with internal stakeholders through effective business partnering.
  • Collaborate closely with the FP&A Manger on ad-hoc analytical project.
  • Supervise Payroll and VAT Returns
  • Undertake additional ad-hoc responsibilities as necessary to support the efficient functioning of finance department.


    Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in a Finance or Business-related subject.
  • Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Understanding of financial reporting, full P&L and Balance Sheet preparation
  • Self-Starter with a strong work ethic
  • Intermediate/advanced excel skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, taking ownership of work and meeting deadlines.
