ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks a Group Coordination Specialist. This position will facilitate group classes for vulnerable populations, assist program participants in gaining access to community resources, and work with volunteers to help clients adjust to life in the U.S. A successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to assist immigrants in achieving stability and overcoming barriers that hinder healthy integration.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Client Services:
- Facilitate topic-specific group sessions for 20 individuals annually, covering topics such as parenting, social adjustment, safety, financial literacy, household maintenance, public transit, nutrition, mental health and wellness, and work-life balance.
- Develop curriculum and pre/post tests for each group session
- Conduct service plans and assess needs, strengths, barriers, and set goals with each individual and participant in the program and check in at least once every 30 days to ensure goal achievement
- Work closely with volunteers providing support in the form of transportation, childcare, materials, or specific facilitation for group sessions.
- Meet with ethnic community leaders to assess needs and promote group programming
- Collaborate and provide training for community partners, mutual aid associations, and churches
- Collaborate with appropriate WR staff around service provision as necessary
- Write detailed case notes for each task/client interaction.
- Retrieve the signatures of each participant and complete all necessary program paperwork
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Organizational Responsibilities:
- Attend all department, team, and staff meetings as scheduled
- Attend peer review meetings for quality control
- Attend all National PC team meetings including one national conference organized by the home office.
- Work alongside other staff to conduct seasonal or special events
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Valid Driver’s License & access to a vehicle; ability and willingness to drive 15-passenger van
- Regular travel is required (client’s home and aiding in the connection to other service providers)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required
- Occasional evenings and several weekends required for group meetings
- Work with and supervise interns
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year degree from an accredited University preferred
- Fluency in Burmese, Arabic, Dari, Swahili, or other relevant languages is strongly preferred
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Able to serve sensitively and effectively in a cross-cultural setting; cross-cultural experience desired
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate with a team of service providers to help clients
- Ability to appropriately handle conflict and willingness to engage in mediation with clients
- Ability to motivate others for strong group participation and regular attendance
- Strong follow-through skills with the ability to finish tasks once starting them
- Strong oral and written English communication ability
