The Group Account Director drives client success and revenue growth within their portfolio, focusing on achieving team goals through impactful client partnerships and strategic business insights. Responsible for planning, defining, and managing the team in collaboration with Team Leads, they ensure the resources and strategy align to support growth. By deeply understanding client challenges, they foster enduring relationships built on trust and value, consistently delivering business impact.
Additionally, the Group Account Director generates and sustains a portfolio of business while working closely with Vertical Leadership to capture new opportunities. They remain agile in strategy to meet revenue goals, understanding the influence of their accounts on both the team's success and client outcomes. As an inspirational leader, they are a trusted advisor, advocate, and partner in producing exceptional work.
What You'll Do
- Autonomously achieve assigned yearly revenue goals for your accounts and group, as applicable.
- Innovating and strategizing to ensure long-term success, approaching these efforts with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Lead and support sales for an assigned portfolio of business, in support of overall vertical goals, working with AVP, Client Accounts to identify opportunities for growth of the Vertical.
- Demonstrate consistency in revenue goal accomplishments for your business team, pushing outside of your goals and moving towards greater success quarter over quarter.
- Maintain a healthy business pipeline, working with AVP, Client Accounts to consistently close opportunities with a target of securing revenue goal forecast 6 weeks out
- Maintain quarterly and annual client health scorecards with President, for accounts which you own.
- Identify strategies that can help move the company forward financially by optimizing team performance.
- Approach change and evolution with an eagerness to solve a problem, be open to other perspectives while finding the right strategic path forward for your team and the greater organization.
- Contribute to the define, management, and strategy of the vision of your team and vertical in alignment with Instruments overall vision.
- Adept at leveraging the right solutions and approaches to solve team business’, or client’s emerging challenges.
- Deeply understand the business of your assigned accounts to drive go-to-market and ongoing account strategy with clients. Consistently show up as the market and consumer expert for client confidence.
- Utilize emotional intelligence and awareness to understand the motivations of the group or team and how to inspire others to collectively meet goals.
- Responsible for your team performance moving in the right direction; maintain awareness and connection to other client teams in the business to understand the overall health of company performance and opportunities for improvement through resourcing levers (loans & borrows, team moves, etc.).
- Maintain awareness of the larger corporate vision as defined by the CEO and President; partner with other Group Account Directors and AVP, Client Accounts to course correct and steer your team through strategic decision-making to ensure long-term growth and success.
- Participate in annual strategic planning to guide the growth and vision of your team in alignment to the company’s vision.
- Provide tangible account details to AVP, Client Accounts to support the hygiene of your annual business plan including re-forecasting goals and ensuring accurate financial projections and resource allocation.
- Monitor industry trends and client landscapes
- Lead, mentor, and develop account teams, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and resources to succeed.
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight, ensuring high-quality client service and project delivery.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth across teams.
- Support team members in overcoming challenges, offering constructive feedback and development opportunities.
- Champion cross-team collaboration, ensuring knowledge sharing and alignment across functions.
- Lead and deepen key client relationships, positioning Instrument as a strategic advisor and innovative partner.
- Build lasting partnerships with clients, optimizing operations and driving strategic value.
- Collaborate with Finance and AVP, Client Accounts to support MSA negotiations and ensure timely approvals, with a focus on consistency in SOWs.
- Leverage P&L insights to inform business decisions and best practices in scoping.
- Make confident decisions despite ambiguity, and stay familiar with internal tools like HubSpot, Float, and Asana.
- Work with team leaders to achieve outcomes using a balance of new and established methods.
- Maintain high standards of excellence, ensuring innovation and best-in-class solutions in concept and execution.
- Balance long-term vision with immediate team and account needs to maximize output.
- Actively engage in recruiting efforts, supporting team hiring needs.
- Partner with VP Staffing to drive process innovation and improvements.

Pay Range
- The expected pay range for this position is $160,000 - $185,000 for our base US Region 3*. We have three regional pay ranges that are adjusted for cost of living (US1 +15%, US2 +7.5%, US3 Base), *learn more about our pay philosophy and cost of living adjustments.
