Our independently owned and operated, agency client is looking for a Group Account Director to join their team on a 12 month contract basis.

As a Group Account Director, you are responsible for acting as the lead and key client contact for a range of accounts in categories including Not-For-Profit, B2C, B2B, Government and more. You will steer the businesses and educate clients on trends, best practices, competitive activity and marketing, and digital strategy overall. You will roll up your sleeves to mentor and work closely with your colleagues in Account, Strategy and Creative to ensure comprehensive plans, flawless execution, and insight-based reporting. You don’t mind diving into projects directly and doing what it takes to see them through to a successful close.
You are an A type – exceptionally organized, have a belief in the foundations of account service (follow up, service, personality) and are looking for an opportunity to independently lead a suite of accounts in a growing, busy, entrepreneurial agency. You consider yourself a master in communication, you’re a natural leader and take time & care to build relationships with your team members and clients.
Most importantly, you don’t take yourself too seriously, you check your ego at the door and you love to work hard and have fun!
Skills and Experience:
- Primary senior contact with clients, providing them with innovative short and long term strategic marketing guidance
- Fully understand all aspects of the client’s business and the competitive business environment
- Manage and co-ordinate with internal team, agency resources and workflow process
- When and where necessary, lead programs including execution and overall strategy stewardship
- Research, develop, pitch digital campaigns and services to existing and new clients
- Build and secure approval for execution plans of digital, video, brand strategy and social media campaigns
- Ensure that you produce all client work with the highest level of quality, on time and on budget
- Work with integrated teams to build estimates and client budgets
- Coach and build internal capabilities on account teams to support client growth
- Provide strong and timely financial management
- Deep experience with digital, brand marketing, social media and strategy
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8-years experience in a client service role in an agency with a strong background in brand building, digital/social and production. Preference given to candidates with small/mid-size agency experience.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the digital space as well as all aspects of social media, video & content marketing (platforms, engagement, reporting)
- Experienced presenter, comfortable demonstrating new ideas, and explaining new processes to others, internally and externally
- Comfortable taking the lead and mentoring junior staff
- Involvement in multiple integrated & digital campaigns
- Track record of building strong long-term client relationships
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Superior organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated strategic thinker with ability to help grow a business
- Post-secondary education in business marketing or advertising an asset
