ispace is looking for a Ground Controller to join our growing team. The ispace Ground Controller is responsible for the Mission Control Centre IT Infrastructure. He will be in charge of configuring, managing and troubleshooting all the tools at the MCC. Tools will require testing, validation and documentation prior to Simulations and Missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ground Segment Design
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams (system & subsystem engineers, AIT, Mission Operations, i.e.) to gather requirements, design, document, develop, procure, maintain and deploy a ground segment.
- Creating automation tools to streamline and optimize mission operations.
- Scaling the mission control ecosystem to support new missions and expanding mission needs (including make-or-buy trade-offs, proposals, etc.).
- Own Ground-to-Ground ICD; contribute to Space-to-Ground ICD with the corresponding Ground Station providers.
- System Integration & Testing
- Oversee the integration of software components in the virtual infrastructure where the ground segment is hosted, ensuring proper interfacing with space and other ground systems (i.e. EGSE, PIL components, etc.).
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and configurations for ground systems, including end-to-end testing and validation of communications and control links.
- Support CI/CD activities across the ground segment.
- Operations Support
- Develop, test and validate operational procedures.
- Participate in training activities and rehearsals to achieve certification for on-console activities.
- Support on-console activities (including 24/7 and on-call during critical mission phases).
- Compliance
- Work together with IT to find solutions concerning Mission Control Center and Ground Segment compliant with security, data and other relevant policies and certifications as determined by the Chief Information Officer/Security Information Officer.
Basic Qualifications
- Proficiency using Python and Bash.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDb, Influx, etc.)
- Proven experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Gitlab/Github, Bitbucket
- Hands-on experience in server configuration, maintenance and monitoring.
- Solid knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiar with network protocols and tools.
- 5+ years of work experience.
- A strong command of English.
- Be organized and capable of planning and executing complex technical work with little oversight. Be driven, continuously self-improving, and proud of her/his work.

Preffered Qualifications
- Full-stack engineering experience developing high-availability tools in a production environment.
- Knowledge of CCSDS protocols, in particular Space to Ground communications.
- Familiar with AWS Tools (CodePipeline, CloudFormation, CloudWatch…)
- Experience in the space industry.
