About the role

Steer is seeking a creative professional to fill our Graphic Design Assistant position. The Graphic Design Assistant will be an integral member of our expanding marketing team. This newly created position is multi-faceted, challenging, and perfect for someone with a keen sense of design and exploration. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple style guides to build your understanding of our various brand requirements, styles, assets, and marketing collateral.

In this exciting and varied role, you will be working across several diverse projects at once as you support the wider team. The role will involve creating video content, graphics, corporate documentation, animation, and photography  to further support our growth in North America while working closely with our Senior Marketing Manager and Graphic Design Manager on assigned marketing tasks to execute our company plan for the region.

This person will be a contributing member of Steer’s North American/International Business Delivery Group, which is comprised of finance, human resources, marketing, legal, L&D, recruitment, facilities, and IT experts. In combination, these disciplines provide us with the breadth and depth to deliver integrated and innovative solutions to the organization.

Our Marketing team brings together a mix of international experts from all backgrounds. We combine our understanding of people, context, and function to deliver innovative solutions that help to make Steer successful.

Compensation

The salary range for Toronto office applicants are $50,000 to $55,000 CAD.

Do be advised that this is an estimated benchmark salary of good faith for the Province of Ontario. All compensation, regardless of location, may be subject to change as skills, abilities, internal equity and geographic location are taken into account.

In addition to base salary, all employees will be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus. Please review the benefits section for more information on total reward.

Steer reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional compensation.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Support the creation of our graphic design library for North American by creating and editing engaging video content for a B2B audience
  • Provide monthly analytics reporting for the region
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the creation of content that align with our overall digital marketing strategy and brand guidelines
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging graphic design trends and marketing best practices

Other assigned responsibilities

  • Contributes content to the social media content calendar and helps with developing internal and external communications
  • Assists in developing marketing materials including copy, layout, and design elements for brochures, collateral, and promotional materials
  • Monitors annual conference planner to ensure consultants marketing needs are supported
  • Develops familiarity with and knowledge of local markets and clients and supporting other business development needs of the firm regionwide

Software proficiencies

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite: specifically in video production tools.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics and web analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of Drupal or similar CMS software.
  • Previous experience utilizing CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.

Education, experience, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Video Production, Graphic Design or an equivalent level of experience.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a Marketing role preferably in a professional services consulting environment
  • Effective writing and verbal communicator
  • Strong digital marketing acumen.
  • Strong design background with brand guideline knowledge
  • An ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Detail-oriented; able to multi-task and effectively prioritize workloads and meet strict deadlines
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • The ability to work autonomously yet in collaboration with other colleagues and our clients
  • ·Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
