POSITION SUMMARY
The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations, corporations, federal/state/local governments, and other grant-making organizations, and will persuasively communicate Feeding South Florida’s mission and programs to potential funders. The Grant Coordinator will assemble and submit grant requests, letters of intent, packets, applications, and establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with donors, conduct prospect research, and maintain a calendar of submissions, reports, and other strict deadlines. The Grant Coordinator will work collaboratively with the AVP of Philanthropy, the Grant Manager, and all departments in support of Feeding South Florida’s mission.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write proposals, and reports, under communications, maintain grant records, and manage the grants calendar.
• Maintain a high level of communication and coordination with the AVP of Philanthropy and Grant Manager
• Research grant opportunities, ensure the accuracy and timeliness of grant applications, meet all grant deadlines, and compile monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
• Participate in weekly grants meetings.
• Maintain shared grant tracking document/process.
• Compile and maintain hunger-related material and statistical data, including the compilation of external data from other sources.
• Work closely with the AVP of Philanthropy and Grant Manager to seek new grant revenue sources.
• Adhere to all timelines for grants and projects with all appropriate FSF departments.
• Collaborate with the Finance Team on grant budgets and spend-down reports.
• Draft grant/impact report documents
• Stay current with impact evaluations, food security, food systems, and food bank trends, research, and literature.
• Represents Feeding South Florida at functions and other meetings as needed.
