Our TAC engineers work closely with other areas of the Arista customer engineering team as well as software and hardware engineering teams — both in diagnosing problems, as well as communicating them in multiple technical contexts. Thus, excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as is a collaborative approach.

Arista Networks is looking for graduate Technical Solutions Engineers to join our World Class support team in our EMEA TAC (Technical Assistance Center). Graduates will go through a ramp-up program which will equip them to learn networking protocols, technologies and tools. You will have access to labs to perform your own recreates, along with assigned mentors and training on our products. Once trained, a Technical Solutions Engineer will support customers across various industry verticals with Arista products and solutions. This role also entails cross functional interaction with engineering, advanced services and sales teams internally.

Responsibilities:
Develop a desired level of proficiency in protocols and technologies by effectively leveraging the support and resources provided.
Troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns raised during installation, operation, maintenance or product application or compatibility matters, via email or on the phone.
Find answers to complex challenges by brainstorming with peers and using labs to recreate issues and test solutions.
Use interpersonal skills, product knowledge and expertise in responding to daily customer-centric activities.
Document customer communication and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development.
Engage in documentation activities that will guide our customers to find solutions to issues with Arista products.
Graduates will develop their skills by working on many or all of the following technologies:
AAA/TACACS, ACL, ARP, BGP, DHCP, 10G/100G/400G Ethernet, Flow Control, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4 & IPv6, LACP, LLDP, MPLS, NAT, Open Flow, OSPF, PIM, QOS, RIP, Sflow, SNMP, STP, VARP/VRRP, VLAN, VRF
WiFi/Campus technologies like 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wireless security (WPA2, WPA3), PoE, Wireless clients and drivers
Troubleshooting tools such as IXIA, tcpdump, and Wireshark
Desired Skills:
Basic understanding of Linux
Familiarity with programming/scripting (C++, Java, Python, Perl, JavaScript, shell) is a plus
The ideal candidate should be able to troubleshoot complex problems while balancing the communications needs of each case. A strong analytical mind is required, as is the ability to triage.
As we are continually releasing new features and products, a high aptitude for both learning and sharing knowledge is also required.
Minimum education is a MS in a technical field (CS/EE/ITP preferred). Industry certifications preferred.
This role is not available for remote work and will be based in our Shannon Office.
