Legal at Coda

The Government Affairs Manager will be responsible for building Coda’s relationships with government bodies and industry associations across Southeast Asia. The role requires a deep understanding of local and regional political and regulatory environments, government stakeholders, and industry-specific policy issues. The successful candidate will be the primary liaison between Coda and government stakeholders across Southeast Asia, working to ensure the company's views are represented in key policy discussions and regulatory processes.
Responsibilities:

Policy Advocacy: Develop and execute a regional government affairs strategy, ensuring that Coda is effectively represented in policy discussions relating to gaming, digital commerce and payments across Southeast Asia.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, regulators, industry associations and other key stakeholders across the region.

Regulatory Monitoring: Track emerging government policies and legislative changes that may impact Coda’s business operations in the region. Provide timely, strategic actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.

Public Affairs: Collaborate with the communications and legal teams to manage the company’s public policy narrative, including crafting speeches, briefings, and position papers that support government engagement efforts.

Crisis Management: Support the company in managing reputational or policy crises by developing appropriate response strategies and engaging with relevant authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Law, Business, or related fields.
- A minimum of 7 years experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory affairs, corporate affairs or legal roles, with a focus on Southeast Asia
- Strong understanding of local and regional political dynamics, policy frameworks and regulations that impact the gaming and payments industries.
- Proven track record of engaging with and influencing policymakers, regulators and other government bodies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinking with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and native-level proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities, with sound judgment and commitment to delivering results.
- Experience in the Fintech or gaming industry will be highly advantageous, but is not required.
- Hands-on, independent, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- High level of discretion and integrity, with an understanding of political sensitivity.
