Who are we?
 
Our Analytics & Insight team is crucial for our client’s success by delivering a data-driven approach to media strategy, planning and activation with an emphasis on accountability and experimentation.
 
An integral part of our Analytics & Insight team is our Data Science & Modelling team. The team’s areas of expertise span marketing mix modelling, budget setting and allocation, forecasting, brand equity modelling, launch volumetric studies and conjoint to name but a few. Our primary focus is on getting insight out of data and analytics in order to provide recommendations for clients that are impactful and actionable.
 
Our UK unit is a team of 60+ analysts, working across more than 25 clients in the UK and globally. We analyse over £600m of communications spend each year, covering 15% of UK media spend which means we are the leading experts in our field.
 
The Data Science and Modelling team is structured into three specialist areas, across which all projects are delivered.  Projects are led by the client team who specialise in exceptional client relationships, understanding client business needs and ensuring analytic projects are delivered that make a real world difference to our client’s businesses. The Data team are crucial for ensuring the data required for our analytics is collected, processed and maintained to industry leading standards, ensuring we have the best possible data to inform the modelling and deliver insights that make a real difference.  The Modelling team are the technical experts with regards MMM and other analytical methods that are not only statistically robust but intuitive, effective and efficient. Each of the teams work seamlessly together to provide our clients with marketing leading and insight led analytical outputs.
 
Overview of role
Our UK team aspires to build a hub in Delhi to work alongside the UK team. We need an experienced professional to support the practice, with a focus on the data required for MMM. Reporting to the Director, of the Data Science & Modelling unit this is an exciting opportunity to help shaping a market leading MMM unit.
 
This permanent role comes at a time of great change within the team and offers the opportunity to really use your experience to shape the future of our team.
 
We envisage the initial months will be focused on getting up to speed with the data systems and current data processes in place as well as building relationships within the data team and the broader UK team. There will be a big focus on data engineering training and implementing best practices to make sure the partnership between the data, modelling and client units' work. The data team will work closely with the central Data Management team to ensure that best practices and approaches are adhered to. Over this period, as the team grows, we will start to transition MMM projects across to the Delhi hub, but with dual responsibilities for delivery across both the Delhi hub and UK team.
 
Once established, our ambition is to run a significant proportion of our MMM work out of the Delhi hub, notably for the data and modelling elements of the MMM project cycles. The Project Data Engineering Lead (Data) ensures the smooth running of data projects, overseeing and fronting the data processes across a number of clients. They are the day-to-day data lead, understanding the data needs, building relationships and capitalising on opportunities to grow our data solution further. You will implement the development and automation of data required for MMM projects and this is a hands-on role. We need an experienced individual to implement data solutions that are fit for purpose and use the latest technologies.

Measures of success
 In three months, you would have:  
  • Understood the Data unit of the Data Science & Modelling’s existing tools and data processes and how we work with the wider agency. 
In six months, you would have: 
  • Started to build your own contacts network, delivered on 1-2 key projects, and be considering improvements that can be made to our data processes.
In 12 months, you would have: 
  • Worked closely with internal clients to deliver longer term data development projects that drive overall project delivery efficiency.
 
 
Responsibilities of the role
  • Ensure delivery of best-in-class data projects to support the wider department project deliverables.
  • Design, develop, implement and maintain data solutions, troubleshooting as required
  • Be a senior data sponsor, take the lead for the overall data processes and quality of work delivered
  • Ensure robust data management process which includes but is not limited to data governance, data engineering, data infrastructure, data automation, data security and reporting 
  • Drive efficiencies and improved ways of working with your team
  • Ensure junior members are completing data projects timely and efficiently, implementing best practice.
  • Work closely with the Modelling and Client elements of the Data Science and Modelling team to support the delivery of market leading MMM analytics to our clients
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure efficient and effective data collection and management without duplication
 
What you will need
Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in data processing and management, with rich and complete data sets, ideally within the media or marketing industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with SQL and Python (preferred) or R
  • Strong experience in the use of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including products such as BigQuery, IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer (Airflow inc), Cloud functions, data flow, data proc, cloud build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Run.
  • Experience with Github/Gitlab
  • Experience of working directly with clients and managing stakeholder expectations 
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure. 
  • Keen attention to detail with a questioning mindset 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects 
Desirable
  • Experiencing working with tools such as: Jira, Confluence 
  • Has worked in a technical team that use Agile 
  • Experience working with dashboarding tools (PowerBI/Tableau/Looker)
  • Experience working with digital marketing and/or web analytics data.
