OpenAI’s People team aims to hire, engage, and retain world-class talent who will safely build and deploy universally beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The HR team is an important subset of the People team and supports a complex, growing employee group of scientists, engineers, and business professionals. The team contains expertise across compliance, employee relations, immigration, compensation and benefits, learning and development, People programs, employee communications, and more.

About the role

We’re immediately seeking a Workday Configuration Analyst (Contractor) to work with our People team for 6 months to support launches across new countries as well as ongoing optimizations for our Workday instance.

We’re looking for a deep Workday expert with experience supporting the system across multiple countries and modules.  In particular, we are looking for someone with strong Workday Absences experience to build global Time-off and Leave functions. This role is both strategy and execution - you’ll be responsible for developing smart Workday solutions that work for our team and own the implementation of them.

In this role, you will:

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them to Workday technical and process requirements

  • Configure solutions that are compliant and scalable

  • Lead testing and quality assurance of Workday solutions

  • Support Workday reporting and security needs

  • Assist with change management activities, including training and documentation

 

You might thrive in this role if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Senior People Systems Analyst with increasing levels of responsibility on Workday

  • Workday configuration expertise across multiple modules, notably Absences, Time tracking, Core HCM, Benefits, Reporting, and Security

  • Previous roles in a high growth, tech environment

  • Familiarity with leading cross-functional projects and interacting at all levels

  • Familiarity with HR compliance requirements across different countries
