TEAM OVERVIEW

KKR’s Complex Liquidity Team, integral to the Global Treasury, is tasked with the management of daily liquidity for high-risk, high-touch funds and mandates spanning private and liquid credit, real assets, and multi-asset portfolios. With oversight of approximately $40 billion AUM across 50 funds and capital pools, our mission is to optimize returns and mitigate undue risks, tailored to each fund's specific mandate. Our core responsibility encompasses comprehensive support and strategic guidance to Portfolio Managers concerning optimal liquidity strategy. This includes precise identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of key fund liquidity risks, alongside devising, and implementing effective and actionable recommendations that inform and shape liquidity management strategy. 

POSITION SUMMARY

In this pivotal role, you will champion data integrity within our evolving liquidity management framework. Your work will ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data foundational to our liquidity models and, by extension, the trustworthiness of our liquidity recommendations. Amidst expanding our functionalities and fund coverage, your contributions will be vital to the precision of our decisions and your efforts will directly aid the function’s strategic development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to the build-out of the function by advancing KKR’s liquidity management capabilities and incessant work on improvements to data ecosystem used for liquidity reporting and analytics. This will require strong collaboration and engagement with business partners across Portfolio Construction/Management, Data Operations, Global Treasury, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Technology/Engineering functions. This opportunity will not only expose the candidate to the versatile and multidimensional discipline of liquidity risk management but also will provide the candidate with unprecedented room for growth and personal advancement. With the significant scope to expand responsibilities, the candidate is poised to take on a more strategic role and contribute to key decision-making processes as their expertise develops allowing the candidate to shape and contribute to a critical Treasury function at a market leading alternative investment manager that undergoes a period of tremendous growth across all business lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Quality Monitoring: Proactively monitor and evaluate the quality of data feeding into our liquidity models. This includes establishment of standards and the assessment of data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across various sources and platforms.
  • Issue Investigation and Resolution: Identify discrepancies, anomalies, or inconsistencies in data. Lead investigations to root out causes, liaising with data owners, stakeholders, and technical teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Issue Management: The candidate must be adept at engaging with data owners and various stakeholders across the organization to ensure data integrity and reliability. This includes not only facilitating effective communication and collaboration but also the escalation and resolution of issues that may arise, ensuring all parties are aligned and any data-related problems are promptly and efficiently resolved.
  • Data Product Implementation and Governance: In collaboration with Data Operations, spearhead the implementation of data products that enhance liquidity management, including designing exception catchers, establishing data quality rules and quantitative assessment of data quality, and ensuring data governance and stewardship.
  • Advancement of Liquidity Expertise: Partnering with senior team members on advancing subject matter expertise on fund liquidity topics, including understanding methodologies, calculations, and the implications of recommendations and liquidity strategies for KKR managed funds.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, processes, and systems for data management and quality control within liquidity data ecosystem. Champion initiatives that enhance our data ecosystem's robustness, supporting the team's strategic goals.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 3-5 years of data intensive experience in financial services [Asset Management or Banking is preferred]
  • Profound expertise in ensuring data integrity and validating data accuracy, with a deep-seated passion for managing and interpreting complex data structures and a keen eye for identifying patterns and anomalies within datasets
  • Strong data analysis aptitude - fluency in analyzing numerical data with experience and ability to evaluate its quality, gaps and appropriateness
  • Proficiency in SQL: strong understanding and hands-on experience including the ability to efficiently write and debug complex queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases.
  • Advanced analytical & data visualization capabilities using a programming language such as R or Python with a focus on data manipulation and analysis
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Power BI - ability to transform data into insightful visual representations to support decision-making will be highly regarded
  • A foundational understanding of financial concepts and risk management principles is a plus
  • Driving Change within the Data Ecosystem: preferably an experience in leading initiatives that drive change and challenge the status quo, specifically within the context of data ecosystem and governance involving advocating for and implementing strategies that enhance data management practices, data quality, and governance frameworks
