Team’s Mission / Work Responsibilities
Global Operations Team mission: Mercari Group brings together employees from diverse backgrounds. While native languages vary greatly, employees work in either English or Japanese. The Global Operations Team’s mission is not only to facilitate communication between teams, but to remove cultural barriers, ensure the most accurate message is portrayed, and create mutual understanding between members.

Specific work responsibilities include the following (Translation 90%, Interpretation 10%)
- Translation of external documents including social media posts and owned media (mostly JA→EN)
- Translation of internal documents to aid Mercari's product development and global expansion (JA↔EN)
- In addition to the above, you will also be asked to interpret at internal and external meetings/events (mostly consecutive, with opportunities to do simultaneous, as well)
- Internal: Company all-hands (company-wide meetings), product development meetings, trainings, 1-on-1s, etc.
- External: Meetings with business partners, hiring/engineering-related events, etc.
(JP → EN: 70%, EN → JP: 30%)
Note: Most interpretation services are provided via Google Meet.

Unique and Bold Challenges
The Global Operations Team helps to create an inclusive corporate culture at Mercari through its translation and interpreting work, enabling diverse talent to come together and innovate. We also handle a variety of other areas including product localization, creation of a global culture at Mercari, and event management.
Required Qualifications
- Shared understanding and belief in the mission and values of our company and of Mercari Group as a whole
- Japanese: Proficient Level (CEFR - C1)
- English: Proficient Level (CEFR - C1)
- At least three years of experience interpreting/translating or equivalent training from an interpretation school
- Ability and stamina to interpret internal meetings for 1 hour by yourself
- Understanding of or interest in learning about the tech industry
- Strong communication and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience translating/interpreting in a tech or finance-related industry
- Experience in people management or interest in people management as a career path
- Experience in onboarding new employees of all backgrounds
- Experience in helping to improve the language environment of your organization
- Experience in operating Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI)

具体的な業務内容は下記です （翻訳：90%、通訳：10%）
- SNS投稿やオウンドメディアの記事を含む社外向けドキュメント類の翻訳（主にJA→EN）
