Global Operations Controllership Sr Financial Analyst

Primary Function of Position:

The Global Operations Controllership function works in collaboration with the Global Operations FP&A teams and the Operations business partners, with direct responsibility for the operational finance processes and controls. This role will focus on standardizing processes and supporting the development of a robust operational controls framework for the Global Operations organization. In this position you will support the execution of all operational accounting and financial reporting activities; partnering with Corporate Accounting to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures to minimize and/or eliminate control deficiencies, including but not limited to out-of-period-adjustments, unreconciled accounts, SOX deficiencies, reporting challenges, and documentation gaps.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Reponsible for monthly and quarterly close processes for global operations as it relates to operational accounting procedures and ensuring internal controls are met; liaise with corporate accounting and global operations FP&A partners
  • Proactively identify and execute process improvements by leveraging best practices, standardization, and automation to scale routine activities while maximizing effectiveness
  • Build out consistent and complete documentation of all operational accounting processes, including SOPs and desktop procedures
  • Partner across Global Ops FP&A and corporate accounting teams to continuously streamline all operational accounting procedures and controls, while increasing the quality of data and communication of results
  • Proactively ensure all SOX requirements are met, and implement reporting to validate
  • Perform quarterly operational balance sheet reconciliations and reporting, ensuring appropriate support for all balance sheet accounts, including aging balance reviews
  • Partner with Global Operations business partners and IT to ensure system implementations and ad-hoc Operations projects appropriately capture the needs of finance and considers controllership requirements
  • Support KPI reporting and enhanced methodologies for tracking the operational execution of the control framework
  • Coordinate data and reporting required for all internal accounting reviews
  • Support Global Operations projects and key initiatives as determined with Global Operations finance

Skill/Job Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience related accounting or related field (experience in public accounting preferred)
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Strong fundamental accounting, knowledge of controls processes and an understanding of business operations
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, self-motivation and accountability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact effectively with business partners at varying levels of management and cross functional teams
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with SAP (ERP), advanced Excel skills, Snowflake and Tableau is preferred
  • Ability to analyze and question data for reasonableness, proper accounting and consistency
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
