Position Summary
 
The Manager of Global Facilities Engineering will lead a diverse team of engineering professionals responsible for infrastructure operations, maintenance, and facility management across all corporate offices and manufacturing facilities worldwide. This leadership role encompasses strategic planning, budget management, and execution of construction projects ranging from workspace renovations to complex, multi-million-dollar facility expansions and greenfield developments.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Team Leadership & Management 
• Lead and manage a team of 8-10+ engineers, project managers, facility engineers, buildings & grounds staff, and facilities drafting/data management personnel 
• Recruit, train, and supervise staff while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, reliability, and customer-focused service excellence 
• Provide strategic direction and establish priorities for all facilities-related initiatives across global operations 
Project Management & Execution 
• Develop project concepts, conduct feasibility studies, prepare budget estimates, and execute projects ranging from small-scale renovations to major construction initiatives exceeding $100M 
• Ensure reliable and effective infrastructure operation, maintenance, and comprehensive documentation across all facilities 
• Manage design and construction phases of major projects, including plant expansions, greenfield construction, and acquisition integration projects  
Strategic Planning & Financial Management 
• Participate in the development and management of Annual and Long Range Capital Plans in collaboration with site-specific operations teams 
• Solicit and document plant and customer requirements to inform strategic facility planning decisions 
• Oversee budget development and financial oversight for all facilities engineering initiatives 
Vendor & Contract Management 
• Ensure compliance with Global Company Purchasing standards and Code of Conduct requirements 
• Manage competitive bidding processes for services and supplies 
• Negotiate contracts and maintain strategic vendor relationships to optimize service delivery and cost effectiveness 
Risk Management 
• Serve as Engineering Liaison between Finance Risk group, Executive Leadership, and Company Operations Teams 
• Collaborate with company risk insurers to identify and mitigate business risks across all facilities 
• Implement cost-effective risk mitigation strategies to protect company assets and operations
 
Qualifications
 
Education 
• Bachelor's degree in Core Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Construction Engineering) required 
Experience & Technical Skills 
• 5-10 years of leadership experience managing engineering and project management teams with similar scope of responsibilities 
• 5-10 years of construction industry experience managing large-scale projects ($50M+) and/or industrial/manufacturing environment experience 
• Foundry experience preferred; construction background highly valued 
• International project experience preferred 
Technical Competencies 
• Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and creating technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation 
• Comprehensive knowledge of national and local building codes, environmental regulations, OSHA requirements, and international compliance standards 
• Experience managing contractor relationships, including competitive bidding, RFI responses, addendum processing, and change order management 
• Working knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines: Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Environmental 
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and related project management software 
Personal Attributes & Competencies 
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills 
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with domestic and international teams 
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours to support facility emergencies and coordinate with global project teams across multiple time zones 
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as business requirements dictate.
