Celerion, a leader in early clinical research, is seeking an accomplished Global Controller to join our team!
Position Overview
This senior financial position is responsible for managing financial accounting functions across the global organization. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer, and will work closely with Operational Vice Presidents and Company Managers. This role requires masterful management of the general ledger, monthly close processes, annual audit coordination and reporting, state tax filings, and strict adherence to GAAP and internal control requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting, tax and audit compliance globally and on a local statutory basis
Manages monthly financial close, including analysis and reporting
Responsible for preparing the annual financial plan and quarterly forecast
Responsible for all financial reporting including monthly management report, monthly bank compliance statements, quarterly board presentations and annual audit reports and footnote disclosures
Prepares quarterly estimated tax estimates and annual tax provisions
Responsible for global cash management inclusive of interest rate hedging and foreign currency exposure
Responsible for managing relationships with financial institutions, lenders, auditors and tax advisors
Maintains current knowledge of accounting guidance and reporting requirements to ensure the Company is compliant
Responsible for all accounting and tax compliance for global locations
Able to support M&A activity including diligence and post- acquisition integration
Responsible for ensuring key financial metrics reported for managing to profitability (project profitability, client margin, Lines of Service KPI)
Works collaboratively with Global Project Management and Lines of Business VP
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 15+ years of accounting and finance experience
International experience required
Knowledge and proficiency with accounting systems and Excel required
Experience in a service industry required
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage a distributed team
Ability to manage multiple priorities required
Able to build relationships with all levels of employees and across borders
Strong leadership skills with the ability to be hands-on
Preferred Qualifications include CPA certification, M&A experience, geographical expansion and integration familiarity and experience in clinical research organizations or the healthcare industry.
