The team:

Managing global media communications requires true network consistency and world-class levels of service and performance; locally, regionally and globally.
We work for brands among others like ALDI Nord, Action, FrieslandCampina, Perfetti van Melle, G-Star, Hästens and SkyShowtime.
We manage multinational businesses through our Global Solutions team, driving strategic leadership for our clients.  We have over 300 International experts managing bespoke solutions for our clients through 12 hub offices based in in Amsterdam, Dubai, Düsseldorf, Hong Kong, London, Miami, Milan, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Singapore and Stockholm.

Role context:

For the Global Solution team in Amsterdam we are looking for a Global Client Manager due to further growth. This is a critical role in facilitating the success of our Global business unit. The Global Client Manager will be responsible for supporting the Global Client Leads in the efficient and effective management of our clients global media strategies and investment. There are 2 main areas of focus. Firstly to build strong relationships with our local teams across the globe to ensure seamless delivery of our clients’ campaigns. Secondly to develop strong relationships with our clients to cement our position as business partners; delivering business results and overall account profitability for Wavemaker.   

Tasks include:Supporting the Global Client Leads to:

  • Ensure network compliance to central contract terms, including performance related incentive schemes and buying / service audits
  • Coordinate and ensure timely delivery of reporting and evaluations , ensure quality and accuracy of output and distillation of business critical insights
  • Oversee quality of delivery of both locally and centrally developed activity and ensure compliance with agreed strategies and approaches.
  • Help to Share best practice and insight with clients and across the network
  • Actively contribute to the development of integrated mediaplans, from brief to strategy and activation (both online and offline) for centrally managed international clients
  • Coordinate and control media budgets, drawing up hour quotes and procurations for media buying and/or consultancy work
  • Responsible and actively contributing to a sound financial process in close collaboration with our internal finance and process teams
  • Reporting budgets and client activity across active markets
  • Coordinate requests with client teams across the network, taking responsibility for client service delivery and supporting trouble-shooting where required
  • Build relationships and work closely together with other teams within WM NL; GroupM Nexus business unit teams, Finance & Process, Strategy and A&I helping to ensure excellence of client service delivery and spread best practice
  • Use all available resources across the network to broaden and deepen understanding of your clients’ business in order to best service their needs
  • Seek projects outside immediate area of responsibility to broaden outlook and add value
  • Proactively look to support and input into the teams New Business pitches
  • Proactively offer to help on tasks outside of the day-to-day in order to support the wider team   


Required skills / experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in media is essential (client manager/account manager roles, experience in media planning), with (digital) channel planning experience within a media agency
  • Understanding of communications planning and the desire to enhance skills and experience across paid, owned or earned territories
  • Broad understanding of marketing disciplines (marketplace and consumer) and proven experience in digital and offline mediaplanning
  • Experience with international coordination or management of multiple-markets  
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Proven experience in media workflow from briefing to closing of interms of financial media management
  • Good financial awareness and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills, (near) native English is a must
  • Strong workflow management, organisational skills and time management\
  • Ability to build personal relationships with clients and colleagues
