Job Summary:
For Our Future Nevada is looking to hire a GOTV Coordinator to help us engage more intentionally in the state’s election protection programming due to the influx of intentional attacks on free, fair, and secure elections in Nevada over the past several election cycles. The GOTV Coordinator will work with the state tables’ Election Protection team to make sure there is a robust election crisis plan, to help recruit volunteers for Election Protection shifts. They will also assist the FOF NV Leadership team execute the GOTV ballot chase program, including helping draft with related training, training materials, logistics, and direct voter contact materials, such as scripts, and will also coordinate our c4 Ballot Cure efforts post-Election Day with all interested stakeholders.
This is a TEMPORARY full-time position through at least November 14, 2024.
Position CLASSIFICATION:
For Our Future recognizes a staff bargaining unit, affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 494, a labor union. This position is NOT included in the For Our Future bargaining unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive plans to increase voter turnout, including door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and community outreach.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for various GOTV activities.
- Foster a positive and productive volunteer environment.
- Organize and promote events such as early vote rallies, and tele-town halls to educate the public about the voting process and facilitate mail ballot drop off.
- Develop and distribute materials (flyers, social media posts, newsletters) to inform and motivate voters.
- Utilize various platforms to spread the message effectively.
- Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal election laws and regulations.Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 1-2 cycles of paid field campaign or other door to door canvassing experience.
- Commitment to building power in the progressive movement and civic engagement as well as an understanding of the electoral process is a must.
- Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN/LAN preferred. Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using social media and digital organizing tools for outreach.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics driven work environment.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Strong coaching skills and abilities. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal communications skills.

Expected Hours of Work:
May require evenings and weekends, especially leading up to election dates.
Employees are required to abide by certain blackout dates during a campaign cycle or other key deadlines, and generally not allowed to take off during blackout periods.
Emergencies are not affected by this policy.
Work Environment:
So long as it is safe and appropriate to continue site-based canvassing and in-person events / training, it will be a high priority. Door-to-door canvassing is considered an essential function of this job. Employees may be required to work in extreme weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold. This position is expected to interact regularly face-to-face with voters, volunteers or community partners. If state and government stay-at-home orders, phased reopening orders, or other factors related to the COVID-19 virus (or any other reason) limit For Our Future’s ability to engage safely in in-person work, employees may be assigned other duties to be conducted from their homes.
