We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Generator Mechanic to join our Power Plant team at Dangote Cement Transport. As a Generator Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing power generators to ensure their optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in power generators.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting generator components.
- Repair or replace faulty parts and components to restore generator functionality.
- Test and evaluate generator performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures during all maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and generator performance.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in generator technology.
- Collaborate with the Power Plant team to ensure efficient and reliable operation of generators.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
Requirements
- B. Eng, HND, ND or equivalent.
- Trade certification as a generator mechanic or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a generator mechanic, preferably in a power plant.
- Strong knowledge of generator systems and components.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
