The General Programmer/Analyst IV possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with computer operations and the user departments. Analyzes, compares and evaluates various courses of action and has the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction and within the scope of their responsibilities.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed data systems.
- Revises computer programs, systems and related procedures to process data.
- Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis.
- Submits recommendations for solution to system issues.
- Prepares program specifications and diagrams.
- Develops coding logic flowcharts.
- Recommends changes in procedures.
- Analyzes, compares and evaluates various courses of action and has the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction and within the scope of their responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Authorities:
Authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance regarding supported systems.
Outside Business Relationships:
- System vendor representatives.
- Software providers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field required.
Training Pre-requisites (Within One Year of Taking Position):
- ESD
- Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department
Experience Required:
- Functional (Using Skill Set)- 5-10 years
Travel Requirements:
- Must be onsite once a week
- Up to 5% (as required)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required (Unique and Measurable):
- Experience with .NET MVC, C#, SQL Server, REST API, HTML, and JavaScript
- Alternatively: Strong development skills in Java and a willingness to learn C#
- Deep understanding of Git for version control
- Proficient understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
- Proficient at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve issues in creative ways and help company meet financial and business objectives
- VB6 experience is helpful
