About the Role
Stitch Fix is looking for a bright, kind, and goal-oriented General Manager to oversee our warehouse facility located in Plainfield, Indiana. As the General Manager, you will spearhead a team of Operations Leaders to drive our strategic objectives and oversee the entire warehouse operations, managing a workforce of 450+ individuals. In this role, you will be an inspiring leader above all else, who’s capable of learning from and building upon our unique culture and operational model guided by our principles. Oversee warehouse operations
- As the General Manager of our warehouse, you will play a pivotal strategic role in shaping the success of our operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and well-being of our associates by designing, implementing, and maintaining processes and practices that maintain a secure and healthy work environment.
- To achieve operational excellence, you will forge strong partnerships with the People and Culture Business Partner Team, cross-functional collaborators, and the local Operations team.
- Through comprehension of both weekly and daily objectives, you will formulate distinct plans and strategic routes, thereby guaranteeing the steady attainment of our organizational goals
- Be relentlessly focused on the client experience as customers are the focus of everything you do here at Stitch Fix.
- In addition to the strategic responsibilities outlined above, you will also be a key driver in fostering a strong and positive culture within our warehouse. As the General Manager, you will lead by example, embodying our company values, and promoting a collaborative and inclusive environment where every team member feels valued and supported.
- As the General Manager of our warehouse, your leadership will extend beyond the immediate site, as you will be at the helm of initiatives that have a broad and far-reaching impact across our network. Your strategic decisions and innovative solutions will set the standard for operational excellence and efficiency, influencing and inspiring other facilities within the Stitch Fix ecosystem.
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 5+ years of leadership experience at the Director level or above in a high volume, client-centric environment (required) e.g. call center, big box retailers, hospitality, warehouse/fulfillment centers.
- You’ve successfully led large teams of 500+ employees and leaders (required).
- You have implemented varying levels of automation and have led the implementation of a WMS. (Preferred)
- You have a servant leadership style with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- You have a proven track record of creating and executing strategic plans revolving around safety, quality, service, cost, and culture.
- You have impeccable communication skills and desire to continue to develop professional and personal capabilities in yourself and others.
- You excel at managing large teams through changing targets and leading through ambiguity.
- You believe in and are skilled in providing high-quality feedback and have experience developing, communicating and managing performance expectations.
- You’re extremely client and employee-centric and are comfortable managing through ambiguity as well as conflict in order to balance short term needs against the bigger picture and vision.
- You’re strong in critical thinking and balance decision making with the right amount of data and input from stakeholders
- You’re analytical and have a data-driven mentality.
- You’re able to fly high at a strategic level to connect details within the context of company and org level priorities while also able to fly low and dive into the details when needed; and you know how to oscillate between the two.
- You’re comfortable being available to address issues outside of standard business hours.
- Bachelor’s Degree or above strongly preferred.
- Lean six sigma green belt or black belt certification is a plus
