The General Manager of Chile, as part of the Americas Leadership Team, reports to the President of the Americas. Based in Santiago, Chile, this role encompasses full P&L accountability for the Chilean business. Responsibilities include Market Development, positioning Fluence, managing Sales, Delivery, and Services, in addition to nurturing and expanding the Fluence team. The General Manager will also contribute to the overarching goals and leadership initiatives within the Americas region.

As the General Manager - Chile at Fluence, you will:

  • Develop market approach, growth plan, and business strategy to support the Fluence business in Chile.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key customers, partners, and other stakeholders to drive business development and strategic partnerships as the executive point of contact.
  • Direct market policy actions and market development through analyzing market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to position the company advantageously in the market.
  • Achieve financial performance and P&L deliverables for Chile, including the company’s budget, revenue growth and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Resolve problems and drive customer satisfaction. Manage day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability. This includes interaction with manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and quality control processes.
  • Develop the management group, organization, talent to deliver our mission and annual targets.
  • Serve as a matrix lead for sales, execution and post installation services in Chile in coordination with the Americas regional functional leaders.
  • Deliver input on the product, commercial and finance needs to support the Chile business plan
  • Assist other Fluence leaders in the development of South and Latin American opportunities.

What will you bring to Fluence?

  • At least 10 years of industry experience in energy storage or related fields such as renewable energy, battery technology, or electric utilities.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field; an MBA is preferred. 
  • Proven leadership track record, ideally with at least 5 years in a senior management position including managing profit and loss responsibilities.  Management work experience in Latin America is a requirement and Chilean work experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, manage and inspire a team.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain executive customer relationships and satisfaction
  • Demonstrated sales experience and execution of growth plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.  Portuguese a bonus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
  • A strategic mindset and a collaborative approach. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment on key business decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
