Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

As a GCS (Gas & Chemical Systems) Senior Operations Technician at Samsung, you will be responsible for safe operation of gas and chemical supply systems to the site. You will be a member of a shift team of 4 to 12 technicians focused on daily operations and supply reliability. This includes monitoring system performance, executing chemical and gas container changes, shifting supply sources, setting conditions for maintenance and ensuring uninterrupted, in-spec supply to onsite semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will become certified and technically proficient on assigned equipment. You will collaborate with maintenance technicians, control room operators and equipment engineers to escalate issues and improve equipment performance. You may assist in the onboarding and training of new Operations Technicians, and you may also perform duties as Shift Lead. You will be a champion of safety and world’s-best performance in all work.

Specific Job Duties:

• Perform in the field operation of gas and chemical systems and conduct routine preventative maintenance
• Perform daily rounds to include parameter readings, equipment status checks and area audits
• Pull and analyze chemical and slurry samples as required
• Perform bulk gas and chemical trailer transfers
• Perform chemical and gas container changes.
• Assist in moving material utilizing a forklift, pallet jack, cylinder hand truck or drum handler as appropriate.
• Monitor equipment status and gas/chemical inventory to ensure reliable supply of gas and chemical feedstock to onsite manufacturing equipment
• Assist in identification and resolution of gas and chemical related manufacturing issues
• Commission and start up specialty gas and chemical delivery equipment
• Complete applicable passdown sections and work order closeouts to record shift task completion and capture any issues or operations carried over to the next shift.
• Participate in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance
• Comply with all applicable EH&S Standards including, but not limited to: PPE, Forklift Operations, Lock Out/Tag Out Program, Confined Space Entry and Respiratory Protection.
• Develop and improve equipment standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure SOPs are strictly followed.
• Provide technical and safety training to junior operations personnel.
• Report quality and safety issues immediately via the department’s escalation process.
• Support the development of safety and quality projects to improve GCS system performance and reliability
• Mentor junior team members

Shift:

Compressed Work Week to commence after training and certification. During training, the schedule is 1st Shift.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

• Technical associates or equivalent related training
• 6+ years of related experience
• Strong technical skills and the ability to represent the group in work coordination and execution

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

• 6+ years of chemical or gas delivery operations experience; semiconductor facility support preferred
• Systems troubleshooting experience and strong mechanical aptitude
• Evidence of previous work in a successful team environment
• Aptitude for documentation and data analysis
• Familiarity with design and installation of gas and chemical equipment including piping systems and facility support equipment
• Strong capability to work with Microsoft Office tools (excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.)
• Ability to thrive in a multi-culture environment
• Ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required
