The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

 

As the GCS (Gas & Chemical Systems) Master Technician at Samsung you will be responsible for safe operation of gas, chemical, and slurry supply to the site. This includes ensuring all Operations, Maintenance, and Projects meet site needs, and continuously improve in these areas as the leader of a world-class team.

In this position, you are responsible for being both a technical lead and task execution lead focused on daily and long term equipment management. You will achieve outstanding execution and safety performance in daily 24/7 maintenance of gas and chemical supply systems. You will coordinate with project teams to develop and execute projects to expand capacity, and improve safety and reliability in material supply. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to maintain and improve equipment performance. You will be a champion of safety and world’s-best performance in all work.

 

Specific Job Duties:

• Lead daily maintenance needs of gas, chemical and slurry systems in the field
• Perform advanced preventative and corrective maintenance
• Lead and participate in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance
• Troubleshoot, down to root cause, highly complex issues and provide technical report to engineering team
• Support Capital planning, including participating in the design and selection of equipment and options for large scale supply systems
• Drive improvements in work processes, equipment and part management, employing lean principles effectively
• Support management of CMMS for all assets, drive on-time PM (preventative maintenance) completion, optimize PM strategies
• Serve as an ideal representative of the department when interfacing with Fab Engineering customers
• Ensure compliance to local, state, and national codes and compliance requirements (including PSM/RMP)
• Support management and development of annual expense budgets
• Support commercial negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects
• Support the development of safety and quality projects to improve GCS system performance and reliability
• Continually drive group culture toward greater learning, development, and overall job satisfaction
• Mentor and train junior team members

Shift:

1st Shift M-F 8am-5pm. Ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required. Ability to be scheduled for on call duty

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

 

• 2 Years of college/technical school or equivalent related experience preferred
• 8+ years of experience in facilities or high volume semiconductor manufacturing
• Strong technical skills and the ability to represent the group in work coordination and execution

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

• 8+ years of chemical, slurry, or gas delivery operations experience; semiconductor facility support preferred
• Expert with systems troubleshooting and strong mechanical aptitude
• Aptitude for documentation and data analysis
• Familiarity with design and installation of gas and chemical equipment including piping systems and facility support equipment
• Strong capability to work with Microsoft Office tools (excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.)
• Six Sigma certification and/or use of LEAN improvement principles a plus
• Ability to thrive in a multi-culture environment
• Experience in managing 24/7 maintenance teams
• Experience in semiconductor engineering is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
• Ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required
• Ability to be scheduled for on call duty
