Your responsibilities
You will join the Gas systems team in the EP-DT-FS section responsible for the maintenance, operation and developments of the gas systems for the LHC experiments. In some conditions, particle detectors at the LHC experiments are making use of greenhouse gases (GHGs). However, CERN is nowadays strongly committed to reduce GHGs emissions from particle detector operation. The EP-DT-FS Gas team has identified four different strategies to optimize the GHGs usage: gas recirculation, gas recuperation, new environmentally friendly gases and gas abatement.

What we offer
About us
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.
