Remote positions open to the US only.

The Game Engineer is responsible for developing new and exciting learning games for KnowBe4’s customers, alongside other game designers and engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop learning games
  • Rapidly prototype and refine games based on user experience feedback
  • Troubleshoot bugs/issues as they are reported
  • Collaborate with Courseware Labs, Instructional Design, and other Publisher teams to establish and refine technical requirements
  • Maintain documentation on game development guidelines alongside Courseware QA team for entire sector
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest game development technologies and frameworks, evaluating new options as they appear and continually refining skillset

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science or Software Engineering or comparable work experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a game and/or software engineer
  • Technical experience designing games
  • Experience with CLI and Git
  • Experience with AWS for game testing purposes
  • Experience developing front-end application scripts
  • Strong understanding of Unity, Unreal, Phaser, Construct, GDevelop and Roblox
  • Strong with JavaScript frameworks such as Svelte, VueJS, and React
  • Built applications with current and forward-facing web standards like CSS3 and HTML5
  • Communication skills, verbal & written
  • Knowledge of Scripting Languages (such as javascript,
  • typescript, ruby, or python)

The base pay for this position ranges from $80,000 - $90,000, which will vary depending on how well an applicant's skills and experience align with the job description listed above.
