Do you live and breathe video games? Are you an expert in visual storytelling with a talent for creating trailers that capture gamers' attention and leave them wanting more? If so, we need your skills!

We're searching for a skilled Senior Video Editor to join our team and create captivating trailers and promotional videos that showcase the excitement and innovation of our game. This is a temporary role based in Orange County with an estimated duration of 6 months (with the possibility to extend up to 12 months), offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and passionate team.

What You'll Bring:

  • A killer portfolio demonstrating your expertise in crafting compelling gameplay trailers and promotional content
  • Mastery of industry-standard video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects)
  • Deep understanding of the video game trailer pipeline, from concept, to capture, to final cut
  • Ability to blend live-action footage, gameplay capture, and motion graphics seamlessly
  • Top-notch organizational skills and a knack for meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
  • Passion for gaming and a finger on the pulse of industry trends
  • Bonus skills: experience with motion graphics and sound design

What You’ll Do…

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and development teams to translate creative vision and marketing goals into captivating video content.
  • Edit various video assets, including in-game footage, trailers, and promotional materials.
  • Utilize development builds and game engines to compose creative gameplay sequences.
  • Capture high-quality gameplay footage and screenshots using in-game tools and external hardware/software for multiple promotional platforms.
  • Edit and refine captured footage to highlight key features, ensuring it meets aesthetic and technical standards.
  • Lead and participate in group capture sessions.
  • Craft engaging narratives using a mix of live-action footage, gameplay capture, and motion graphics that resonate with a diverse audience.
  • Organize and manage video projects to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery.
  • Stay current with industry trends and editing techniques to continuously improve content quality.
  • Coordinate cinematic gameplay shots that align with in-game cinematics, working closely with the directorial team.

At Bonfire, we pay based on our internal leveling system, which is informed by market salary data and a person’s experience. This role offers a competitive salary, which we anticipate will be around $120,000/annually. However, we're eager to discuss compensation with candidates who bring additional experience to the table. We believe in transparent communication and look forward to having open conversations about salary expectations throughout the hiring process.
