Primary Function of Position
The Training Lab Associate coordinates orders and maintains proper protocol as it relates to the use of training models. The Training Lab Associate is responsible for the management and cleaning of all inventories, Training systems, equipment, and instrumentation. The Training Lab Associate supports the needs of Program Education and Professional Services, Commercial Education, Marketing, and other departments.
Essential Job Duties
- Manage use of the training lab and availability of Intuitive technology for training, education, and special programs
- Order, maintain and organize Intuitive technology, instruments, accessories, and 3rd party supplies
- Organize and maintain laboratory records and filing system
- Maintain and distribute training calendar schedule
- Coordinate system allocation and bay assignments for trainers
- Manage da Vinci System loaners in collaboration with other departments
- Shipping/receiving of inanimate or alternative tissue models and equipment
- Responsible for daily cleaning of all Intuitive instruments, accessories, and 3rd party equipment
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining training bays
- Responsible for tray set-up instrument for all training session; must be completed prior to scheduled training
- Organize, maintain, and manage cleaning and reprocessing area
- Schedules routine preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment (da Vinci® surgical system, video equipment, electrosurgical units, etc.)
- Troubleshoot Intuitive technology system and auxiliary equipment malfunctions and informs customer service, as needed
- Set up maintenance and repair of auxiliary equipment
- Responsible for movement and set up Intuitive technology for training events
- Scheduling and logistics for delivery of Intuitive technology to and from offsite training events
Required Skills and Experience
- Laboratory technician/specialist or equivalent
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; German and English required
- Strong interpersonal and individual leadership skills
- Highly organized and able to operate independently
- Knowledge of the operating room and associated processes preferred
- Knowledge of laboratory & medical terminology, equipment, materials, and procedures
- Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime, if necessary
- Travel as needed
- Must be proficient at MS Office applications
Required Education and Training
- B.S./B.A. degree preferred
- Coordination and logistical experience preferred
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift and push 25 kg
