Fund Team reporting to VP of Fund
Are you a highly detail-oriented and organized individual with a foundational background in accounting or finance with 2-5 years of experience? Do you thrive in environments that require the completion of structured, recurring tasks, and excel at meeting strict deadlines? As the Fund Operations Analyst, you will support the crucial back office functions of the most active venture firm in the Southwest.
You will work closely with Capital Factory’s tenured fund and finance teams to ensure our family of venture funds meet their reporting and financial obligations, keep an accurate record of all investment positions and activity, and support the contracting process with new portfolio companies in our unique All Access Fund.
Requirements
What you will do…
- Support the preparation of fund financial statements, accounting workbooks and capital accounts as well as organize their distribution to all limited partners.
- Coordinate and support the preparation of annual tax documents and their secure, timely distribution to all limited partners.
- Track and update all data and records on all investment positions and fund activity, converting the data into accurate fund performance metrics for internal and external distribution.
- Support the calculation and preparation of fund distributions to limited partners.
- Prepare fund level budgets, track the flow of cash and process invoices in coordination with our finance team.
- Prepare the correct terms for contracting with our new portfolio companies. Issue DocuSigns for execution of our engagements and track the deals to closing. Maintain proper records of the deals as they close and onboard onto our platform.
You'll know you're successful if...
- Quarterly and annual deliveries of fund financials and capital accounts done within 45 days of the reporting period close.
- Tax documents are delivered by April 1.
- All limited partners questions related to reporting, document access and taxes are responded to by the next business day. They know to reach out to you directly because they know that you will have these answers before anyone else.
- Deal closings are initiated within 24 hours, closed within 72 hours. If they cannot close within 72 hours, an exact path to close is outlined and next steps are defined in a closing pipeline.
- All invoiced expenses and fund related cash flows are accurately tracked and prepared for approval within 48 hours.
About you...
- You are detail and process oriented with high levels of organizational skills.
- You have a background in accounting or finance through formal education or job related work.
- You can problem solve on your own but know when to escalate to others.
- You check your email in the evenings and are available to work during evening events and over the weekends when there is a tight deadline. You do what it takes to get the job done.
- You are available to travel overnight up to once per month.
- You are outgoing and can talk to just about anyone.
- You are a documentor. You make lists and spreadsheets.
- You are a problem solver. You look for ways to make things work better and how to turn chaos into systems.
- You are organized and plan ahead, but you don’t get stressed out when things change at the last minute… because they will. You roll with it.
- You check your email in the evenings and are available to work during evening events and over the weekends when there is a tight deadline. You do what it takes to get the job done.
- You have a reliable laptop computer & smartphone that you are comfortable using for work.
- You plan to stay in Texas for at least two years.
