Building Copilot
Copilot is our suite of CAD/CAM automation software that is responsible for automating Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis, CAM programming, and CMM programming. We work with some of the best operators in the world to identify high impact areas to automate and/or automate with software. Our team develops software, manufacturing processes, and machine controls and we integrate with a variety of machines and robotics systems. We are responsible for designing and implementing the solutions cradle to grave. Broadly, this can be any combination of full stack web engineering, applications engineering, computational geometry, and working with a number of engineering centric APIs (documented and undocumented).
In this role you will:
Be building a completely new fullstack application that we need to help provision engineering data regarding tools
Strong experience in Typescript
Need strong experience and proficiencies with typed languages (i.e. Go/C#/C++, etc.)
Need strong aptitude with data modeling, particularly with relational databases
Need to have had some experience with backend system design
Proficient in Git and basic software development workflow
Understand the basics of developing and deploying web technologies at a minimum
Admired skills/background:
Strong experience in Typescript; familiarity with Python and Go (our core tech stack will be in Typescript and Go)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
2-3 YoE working on data-intensive and complex web applications
Workable frontend knowledge/interest is a big plus; familiarity with state management experience in either Zustand, Redux, or similar
Experience designing and building complex software systems from scratch
Networking and API design experience (REST & gRPC)
Experience working in a microservices system architecture
This might be a good fit if:
Experience in any manufacturing system, ERPs, inventory systems
You're comfortable writing and reading performant algorithms and data modeling
You have great product intuition and user empathy
You enjoy working with your end users (since you'll be working closely with manufacturing experts to understand their workflows and make sure their needs are being met)
You have a good feel for what is worth building when engaging with a complicated problem
Experience with or loves to build fullstack products
Loves breaking down complex problems and delivering real solutions
Compensation and Benefits
For this role, the target salary range is $150,000 - $225,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
