Enhance data integrity and discoverability by ensuring teams can confidently access and consume and operate their data. You'll also work on tracking and visualizing data lineage, mapping relationships across critical datasets, databases, and jobs to reveal how data is produced, consumed, and how it evolves.

What You'll Do
Build and Innovate: Craft Backstage-powered UIs and architect and develop backend systems that enhance the management and discovery of data.
Collaborate with Users: Engage with Spotify’s data engineering community to uncover pain points, streamline operations, and improve the developer experience.
Own the Full Lifecycle: Lead projects from ideation and design to deployment and monitoring, delivering robust, well tested, high quality, maintainable solutions.
Ensure Reliability: Strengthen the scalability and dependability of our services by participating in on-call rotations, diagnosing issues, and driving continuous improvements in our ops.
Grow and Learn: Immerse yourself in a culture of continuous learning through hack time and collaboration with engineers across the platform mission to stay ahead of industry trends.
Who You Are
You are skilled in modern web development, especially with JavaScript and React, being able to craft intuitive interfaces that enhance our data management experience.
You have a strong background in building APIs and client libraries with Java, and you’re experienced with gRPC, REST, and GraphQL to deliver scalable, efficient backend services.
You’re passionate about working with data and eager to deepen your understanding of Kubernetes internals.
You thrive on full cycle product development, from user research and discovery to coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support, constantly learning and growing as a well rounded engineer.

We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
The United States base range for this position is $125,562 - $179,374 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
