Fullstack Engineer

Acumen Academy is seeking a Fullstack Engineer in Colombia with 4 or more years of software or web app development experience to help develop, deploy and maintain microservices, API endpoints, GCP services, and client-facing apps. This is a hybrid role based in in Bogotá

Where You Come In
Acumen Academy is looking for a Fullstack Engineer with a strong grasp of industry-standard automated deployment and testing methodologies. You are equally comfortable coding a microservice as you are developing simple, clear, and repeatable processes that ensure consistent release versioning, continuous integration and deployment, and end-to-end testing.

Accountabilities Include

• Champion our website translation to Spanish
• Complete understanding of front and backend development cycle to assess and secure vulnerabilities
• Build robust frontend features and components in ReactJS
• Build and maintain Hubspot templates
• Find and fix accessibility, performance and cross-browser compatibility issues
• Support in building backend features, microservices, endpoints, and infrastructure

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of software or web app development experience
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript and at least one other programming language, preferably PHP8+ or Python.
• Modern software development platform experience including code repositories, automated build, testing and deployment (CircleCI, pipelines/actions)
• Understanding of technical SEO, performance, accessibility and security fundamentals
• Demonstrable experience in building UI using React, GatsbyJS and Emotion CSS
• Proficient understanding of standards compliant web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
• An understanding of microservices architecture
• Strong QA sensibility with proficiency in unit testing and adept at managing issue tracking on Jira.
• Reasonable understanding of containerization (Docker)
• Interested in learning and experimenting with new technologies such as OpenAI’s API, LLM application 
• Strong working knowledge of NoSQL ( Firestore, Mongo DB)
• Reasonable experience — or eagerness to learn — security and vulnerability testing and remediation best practices (Basic OWASP top 10)
• Fluent in English and Spanish
