Full Stack / Rails Developer

What you’ll do

An exciting opportunity exists to join the in-house development team at i-Motor, a dynamic and rapidly growing business focused on web development for the automotive industry. We build and deploy websites for motor vehicle dealers and manufacturers across Australia, New Zealand, and South America.

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer with a strong background in Rails apps and a keen interest in API integrations, GraphQL, data flows, and React framework APIs such as Gatsby or NextJS. When producing client-facing tools, the ability to work with the presentation layer to combine UX, layouts and CSS styles is essential. Experience with AWS cloud formations and Lambda functions is a bonus. Our team all have excellent professional standards and possess strong communication skills.

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Rails.
  • Work closely with Rails framework to engineer solutions for front-end and back-end applications.
  • Implement and manage API integrations, including working with GraphQL.
  • Work on both client-side and server-side of applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and debug software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Write technical documentation and adhere to best practices.
  • Create security and data protection settings and optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.

What we are looking for?

  • Strong commercial experience in full stack development
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, GraphQL and RESTful APIs, Git/GitHub, AWS and Lambda functions, HTML, CSS (SCSS), Javascript, Gatsby or NextJS APIs, 
  • Experience with API integrations and data flows
  • Familiarity with GraphQL
  • Basic understanding of AWS and Lambda functions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
