Digital Turbine is searching for a dynamic, creative Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Fotoscapes team. Fotoscapes is a rich media content experience comprised of animated images and text. It plays directly in a desktop or mobile browser, allowing users to customize the content based on their interests. Our subject matter runs the full spectrum from social media to hard news stories from sources such as UPI and AP News.

We are looking for motivated, detail-oriented individuals who demonstrate a focus on customer service as well as effective communication and problem-solving skills. The Full Stack Software Engineer is expected to work with product management, QA, and partners to deliver timely solutions and resolve engineering and user experience issues. The ideal candidate would be located near one of the locations listed above for occasional in-person collaboration but remote work is supported the majority of the time.

About the role of the Full Stack Engineer:

  • Working directly with our engineering staff, content team, content partners, QA, and product management.
  • New features in the CMS (content management system) front-end and back-end.
  • New content players or player features and image processing.
  • SQL Queries for scheduled content curation.
  • Building or extending REST APIs.
  • Integrate new third-party content sources into the system.
  • Data pipelines and using AWS services to improve and scale the platform.

Responsibilities of the Full Stack Engineer:

  • Full-stack software development.
  • Implement scalable and cost-effective software systems that meet business requirements.
  • Develop high-quality software using industry best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
  • Interface directly with product management, QA, Partners, etc.
  • Day to day use of Golang, Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap, Ractive.js, MySQL, AWS services, GCP Services, and Git.

Requirements of the of the Full Stack Engineer:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, or suitable discipline.
  • 2+ years of full-stack development experience such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Ruby, PHP, Python, Golang, SQL.
  • 2+ Years of experience working in a Cloud environment.
  • Willingness and desire to learn new skills.

Skills of the of the Full Stack Engineer:

  • Golang, JSON REST APIs, S3, SQS, RDS, ALB, CloudSearch, CloudFront.
  • Relational Database Experience, MySQL, Postgres, etc.
  • Experience with popular web frameworks/libraries -- Ractive.js preferred.
  • JavaScript, Git, Bootstrap Framework.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems and working knowledge of RSS.
