CMT Scanner is an automotive AI (computer vision) automation technology company (cmtscanner.com)
Our industrial scale AI scanners take high-definition imagery of vehicles and classify damage as the vehicle passes through the scanner. The generated data is used to automate the vehicle damage report whilst categorising the damage and producing a repair quote for the customer. Customers are notified directly from the QuoteSmart system or through integrations with dealership management systems (DMS).
We are an early-stage start-up supported by a successful parent company with deep roots in the automotive repair industry. Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Design, develop, implement, test, document, and support in-house developed complex and customized applications
- Provide technical direction for certain projects, serving as lead technical resource on Computer Vision implementations
- Research emerging technologies and ensure most effective development applications tools and methodologies are utilised
- Collaborate on monitoring application health and performance and troubleshoot systems and integrations
- Work with minimal supervision
Key Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of Python, YOLO V4/V5, Computer Vision Hardware (AI Optimised Cameras)
- Detail oriented self-starter capable of excelling in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build new Python applications from the ground up, write basic SQL queries, and stitch together everything from data layer to UI
- Experience implementing REST API endpoints to serve data (ideally Django Rest Framework)
- Strong preference to familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, including Google App Engine, Google Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL (Postgres), Cloud Run, and DevOps Pipelines
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Located in the Brisbane area
- Position is open to remote working; however, onsite testing of scanners and physical equipment is required occasionally at our office and workshop in Geebung, QLD (North Brisbane)
- Automotive industry knowledge is not required
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with Qt frontend development
- React.js framework experience
- Experience with Github CI/CD tools
- Knowledge of and experience implementing Test Driven Development (TDD) strategies
