As a Frontend (UX) Engineer (with a passion for design), you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our proprietary design system, which aims to become the backbone for the variety of our internal and B2B platforms. Podium will enable standardization, seamless scalability and customization, empowering teams to deliver highly efficient, cohesive, and innovative digital experiences across a diverse range of powerful enterprise platforms.
You’ll collaborate with talented teams already utilizing Podium in production, supporting over 10 products with more than 60 engineers and designers daily. As we continue to onboard new internal clients each month, your contributions will be crucial in scaling and enhancing our design system capabilities.

Our small, but ambitious team is set to grow in the coming years, with plans to support end-user facing products and white-labeling solutions for tailored design systems in the near term.We are streamlining the development of user interfaces with Podium, which include:

  • White-labeling solutions using theming and a variable/design-tokens approach to rapid customization of various design systems.
  • Transforming Figma components into pixel perfect React components from Atoms to Molecules and larger Organisms.
  • Design patterns (login/register, filtering, ticketing, purchase, etc.).
  • Creative design to code solutions.

CHALLENGE:

  • Develop, enhance, and expand our internal UI Library, focusing on scalable React components, ensuring seamless integration with our design system, and maintaining Storybook documentation for an excellent developer experience. 
  • Collaborate with the Design System UX Lead to translate Figma designs into React components, while also building design-to-code Figma plugins and design tokens for flexible and adaptable UI solutions. 
  • Continuously evaluate user feedback to refine and improve the UI library, contributing to the creation of custom UI components that meet diverse product needs.

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Passionate about front-end development with a keen interest in UI/UX design.
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience, with good knowledge and understanding of React and design systems. 
  • collaborator at heart, ready to work closely with UX designers and engineers to refine and expand our UI library. 
  • Eager to grow within a forward-thinking team.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in ReactTypeScript are a must, CSS3, SCSS and modern JavaScript(ES6+).
  • Experience with Design Tokens, Style Dictionary or design systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with a sharp eye for user and developer experience (UX/DX).
  • Fluent in English with professional proficiency, enabling effective communication with a global team of English-speaking developers.
  • Experience with Figma.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with Storybook.
  • Contributing to open-source or internal UI libraries.
  • Experience in developing Figma plugins or design-to-code solutions.
  • GitLab, Docker, and basic CI/CD processes.
